Keerai Masiyal

This is a very easy and quick recipe that my mom taught me. Ingredients :
1 bunch Spinach or Arai keerai
1tsp cumin seeds
1 clove garlic
1 small tomato
1 green chilli
1/2 mustard seeds
A pinch asafoetida
1 spring curry leaves
A few slit shallots
Method:
Wash the spinach leaves well and let in drain.In a Kadai,pour a little oil,add cumin seeds.When they splutter,add roughly cut tomato pieces,green chilli, garlic and the washed spinach.Saute for a minute till the leaves change colour.Switch off the stove.Allow to cool.Blend well in a mixer.
Season with mustard seeds,asafotida curry leaves and shallots.When the shallots turn brown ,Pour over the ground paste.

This is another entry for RCI Tamil Cuisine as well, since I mentioned this as a good combination for the Poondu Kozhambu.
